Spring Wasps? What You Can Do About Them

Spring pests can be abundant, as they are awakening from a long winter's nap. These pests can be very agitated and looking for something to eat for themselves and their colonies. Wasps are one of these pests that are going to be very agitated at this time, looking to build their nests further and find food. If you have a wasp nest nearby, you more than likely know it, as they are going to be very feisty. If you have wasps around your yard this spring, read on for what you can do about them to prevent getting stung by these pests or having these pests take over your home.

Stay Away From The Nest

Stay away from the wasp nest as they going to be very agitated during this time of the year. They have just awoken and are full of energy. They may sting if you are too close to their nest, so you need to be sure to stay away from them. Spraying the nest will get rid of the nest, but not the wasps, as they are out of the nest during the daytime. The wasps will just rebuild their nests somewhere else, more than likely close by.

Spray The Nest At Night

Spray the wasp nest at night when the wasps are in their nest. This way, you will kill the wasps inside as well as get rid of the nest. Spray the nest thoroughly after dusk when the wasps are not active and use a pesticide spray for wasps that has a long-range spray on it so you don't have to get too close to the nest. Spray the nest to soak it, then remove the nest from your home and spray any of the wasps that are still moving.

Stay Vigilant

Wasps can be very abundant during this time of the year. You need to remain vigilant at this time and watch for their nests. They can be just about anywhere, but usually in those least expected places, such as the underside of a railing, or in the eaves of your home. Stay vigilant, and watch where you put your hands or get close to.

If you have a problem with wasps, you need to keep a close eye on these pests, stay away from them and spray them at night when they are less active to prevent getting stung. Wasps can sting over and over again, so you need to be careful, especially if you are allergic. Contact a pest control company if you need help getting rid of these pests.
